My Profile is Live…Now what?
Now that you have posted your profile, what is your next step? Many clients have told me how discouraged they were because no one was writing them. I experienced the exact same thing. I thought…that is curious…I pretty good looking, I wrote a decent profile, what is going on??
Women, I have news for you…there are a lot more single women than men. If you want to sit back and wait for them to write, you may be disappointed. Men have told me how all they do is respond to their inbox.
You have to be in it to win it!
I call it Shopping for Men. Dedicate some time to search men or women and write to them. You might see a funny or interesting picture they have posted. If you like a profile, drop a note. Nothing extensive is necessary, but now you are on their radar. If s/he checks out your profile and writes back, you have begun the fun of chatting or banter.
Keep it simple. Just jump in and have fun!
Ask questions
Be curious and watch the conversation unfold. We are all here for the same reason. We are looking for companionship. If you meet someone who just wants to ‘hook up’ and that is not your thing, just say no thanks and move on.
Note: You don’t have to take anyone else’ actions or words personally. I can guarantee you that everyone will show up as his or her unique self. We get to decide to engage or pass.
Be open minded and stay open to possibility
Be careful about flipping through pictures in search of a ‘hottie’. Someone who you might not have seen as handsome or beautiful at first, you now see quite differently because of his or her personality and your fondness for them.
It works if you work it.
Pick your pace, have fun with it and surrender the outcome. As one client stated, “I either walk away with a funny story, learning something new or the possibility of a second date…it’s all good!”
